Zauchensee - the small, charming mountain village with lots of great highlights:

Zauchensee is truly Salzburg's winter pearl - not just because of its idyllic, but also because of its snowy location ranging in elevation between 1350 and 2188 metres above sea level. Here, the place which Michael Walchhofer calls home, the winter season gets underway quite a bit earlier than in other spots.  Zauchensee - live, in the heart of the Ski amadé – 860 km of superbly groomed slopes and 260 modern lifts leave no wish unfulfilled. Whether you are an ace or a newcomer, you are guaranteed to find your very own perfect playground!

Our Snowy Location:
Our ski area truly is the height of skiing enjoyment - Zauchensee is the highest ski area in the Salzburg Sports World. Not without reason are we renowned far and wide as a "snow trap". It is not rare to have 2 metres on the mountain until well into springtime.
Our Lifts:

And these slopes are guaranteed to appeal to everyone: from "blue" slopes for gentle gliding to those steep "black" runs, from family ski runs to high-speed hills. Here are a few more facts and figures: The 15 lifts of Zauchensee/ Flachauwinkel/ Kleinarl are able to transport 22,292 passengers per hour.

Our Role in this Nation of Skiers:
More skiers have cut their teeth on these slopes than anywhere else in Austria - just think of Hermann Maier, Gitti Obermoser and, of course, our own World Champion,  Michael Walchhofer! Ready to ski your personal best on our timing hills? Or maybe to host your own company or club races?
