Around 42 km of marked snow-shoe hiking trails lead through the snowy, pristine winter landscape around Zauchensee-Altenmarkt and will offer you an unforgettable nature experience. Snow-shoe hiking in the evening is pure winter romance and a wonderful balance to skiing in your winter holidays.
Enjoy romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides with 2 PS and let yourself be taken through the white winter world. The sleighs are big and can accommodate up to 14 persons. Cosy huts will invite you to take a culinary break on your ride.
A popular winter sport in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee is Bavarian curling which not only the locals can be seen at but also guests. Whether young or old, everyone can easily participate in this game! Experience the traditional pastime Bavarian curling and spend some funny hours off the slopes. The ice rink belonging to the Ice Shooter Association (“Eisschützenverein”) Altenmarkt is open to the public every day from 9 am to 12 pm and 4 pm to 9 pm. Reservation is necessary.
Altenmark-Zauchensee also has its own ice rink. There is an outdoor ice rink in the village of Altenmarkt with a total surface of 300 m2. Ice skating is possible every day from 3 pm.
